Five years. One neighbour with a phone and a problem. Mountain climbs, soup kitchens, war graves, walks, songs, surveys, stories. No grant, no infrastructure, no script. Just the work.

"Lived-experience-led — raising awareness and support through music, healing, creative expression and community engagement."
— Scott Glover, Founder · Social Legacy CIC
What happened in five years.
No marketing budget. No agency. No grant pipeline. Just one neighbour who kept showing up, and a community that kept showing up back.
2020
The seed — and the soup kitchen.
Started where most community work starts: a neighbour at a low point, a couple of friends saying "let's at least feed people." 250 meals a week through Wednesdays at the height of lockdown. The Walk & Talk model began here — long walks, no scripts, no agenda, just being present.
2021
The Box Challenge and 500 pairs of shoes.
600+ Box Challenge items distributed across Cheshire, Manchester, and London. 500+ pairs of shoes donated to people who needed them. The pattern emerged: when Scott asked the community for something, the community delivered fast. Surveys filled in days. Stories volunteered without prompting.
2022
The road, the bridges, the bigger ask.
1,600 campaign miles planned, 250 walked in the first sprint. Two mountain summits. The first awareness walks across motorway corridors put Scott in front of the bridge work that would later become Leg8cy Project. 180 war graves cleaned across Manchester and Wales — community-led, lived-experience-anchored, low-cost, high-impact.
2023
Social Legacy CIC — formally registered.
23 January 2023. The community work that had been running on goodwill since 2020 became a Community Interest Company. Company number 14611102. Registered office Alsager, Cheshire East. Mission locked: lived-experience-led community mental-health, neurodiversity, suicide prevention, substance misuse, harm reduction, wellbeing — through music, creative expression, and walking-the-roads.
2024
The network thickens.
Partnerships with creative-industry, recovery, peer-support, and lived-experience organisations across Manchester, London, Birmingham, Wales, and as far as Cyprus and Kenya. 47+ video testimonies recorded — every one consent-coded, every one Samaritans-Media-Guidelines-safe. The community now spans counties, not just postcodes.
2025
The first independent Social Impact Report.
Commissioned by Scott. Authored by InclusiFund's Social Impact Data Research Division. 66 community surveys, 12-row operational metrics table, coded outcomes, partner registry, geographic registry, four funder-grade charts, full DOCX narrative + PDF. The proof, on paper, the way funders need it. Reach grew from 200 in 2020 to 900 in 2025 — a four-and-a-half-fold growth without a single full-time hire.
One CIC. Three identities. One mission.
People sometimes ask how Social Legacy, Leg8cy Project, and The Green Room relate. The answer is simpler than it looks.
The Umbrella
Social Legacy CIC
The legal entity. The CIC registered at Companies House, the policies, the governance, the accounts. Everything else operates underneath. This is what funders fund, what councils contract with, what banks see on a statement.
The Programme
Leg8cy Project
The bridge work. LEG8CY SOS is the system — detection unit + two-operator response + aftercare network. Leg8cy is a programme of Social Legacy CIC, not a separate company. Same legal entity, dedicated focus on real-time suicide prevention at UK bridge hotspots.
The Café (in development)
The Green Room — Wellness Café
High-street activation in Crewe town centre. Café front + wellness research-and-recovery back-section, modelled on Birmingham's "Grams." Operating entity in development under the same CIC umbrella. Cheshire East Council Open in Crewe £30K capital scheme engaged.
The geographic footprint.
Cheshire and Staffordshire is the registered home. Manchester is the delivery anchor. The rest is where the community lives — and where the work has reached, year on year, since 2020.

2026 → 2030
Where this goes next.
The five-year story isn't finished — it's the credentials for what comes next. Three concurrent lanes, one CIC, one mission to keep showing up where the community already is.
The Bridge Work
LEG8CY SOS Phase 1 — 10 high-risk UK bridges, detection unit + two-operator response, independent evaluation, national rollout track. The work funders ask about first.
The High Street
The Green Room opens in Crewe — café front, wellness back. Counter-isolation safe-space, disability-led from the architecture out. Cheshire East capital scheme live.
The Next 5,000
From 900 reached to 5,000 reached by 2030. Same model: community-led, lived-experience-anchored, neighbourhood-paced. No empire — just deeper roots in the same ground.
Governance & board — current state, on the record.
Founder & Director: Scott Glover (appointed 23 January 2023). Co-director Daniel Edward Russell resigned 2 March 2026. Social Legacy CIC is currently in active co-director recruitment — two seats are open via the /join apply-and-vet engine.
This is on the record because funders read Companies House before they read websites, and because the community deserves transparency about who's at the wheel.
Active director: Scott Glover (Founder)
Seats open: 2 co-director positions — apply via /join
Companies House status: Active · accounts in good standing · last accounts to 29 June 2025 · next due 31 March 2027
Designated Safeguarding Lead: Scott Glover (interim — until co-director DSL is appointed via the recruitment process, target Q3 2026)
